Abstract

This article analyzes the concepts of knowledge, belief and ideology in the teaching of Venezuelan History developed in school textbooks. The analysis is based on the theoretical contributions of Teun van Dijk who in his prolific work addresses the aforementioned constructs and how they can be analyzed in different discourses, in this case, in a specific discourse that is academic. Concrete examples are compiled in which the specific treatment of the categories of analysis mentioned can be observed.

María Elena Del Valle Mejías, Metropolitan University of Caracas

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, on March 10, 1970, graduated as Professor at the Universidad Pedagógica Libertador in 1992, with a specialization in Economic and Social History of Venezuela at the Universidad Santa María, with a Master's Degree in Economic and Social History of Venezuela , thesis with publication mention and sum cum laude, Doctor in Educational Sciences at the Pedagogical University of Caracas, with a post-doctorate in Semiotics and Pragmatics at the Complutense University of Madrid, has projects funded by the UPEL and with the participation of the Complutense University of Madrid, with projects funded by FONACIT, certified researcher at the Complutense University of Madrid, the international group CONCILIUM and CELARG, regular speaker at national and international events, assigned to the line of research, Language Sciences and with seven years of research in the area of ​​discourse analysis. Ordinary Professor at the Libertador Pedagogical University. Accredited researcher at CYTED, AECID, professor at UNIMET.
